Privacy
The short version
- PLUR is local-first. Your agent's memories (engrams) are plain files on your own machine. We never receive them.
- No account, and nothing sent to us by default. Usage reporting is off unless you turn it on.
- This website uses no tracking cookies. We count visits with analytics that keep nothing on your device, and we never sell data.
Who we are
PLUR LTD, company number 17326865, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. We are responsible for the data described here. Questions or requests: gregor@plur.ai.
The PLUR software
- Your memories. Engrams are stored as readable files in
~/.plur/. Search runs on your machine. You can read, edit, export or delete them at any time. - The AI model you use. When your agent uses a memory, it becomes part of what your agent sends to the model you chose. That provider's own terms apply; PLUR has no part in that exchange.
- Downloads. PLUR is installed from npm, and the local search model is downloaded from Hugging Face on first use. Those services see a normal download request. None of your memories are included.
- Usage reporting: off by default. If you turn it on (
PLUR_TELEMETRY=on), PLUR sends daily counts of its operations, the version and your operating system, and, when a search finds nothing useful, a one-way fingerprint of the search with a general topic label. All of it is tied only to a random install ID. It never includes your searches, memories or project names. Turn it off at any time. - Receipts: off by default. If you turn on
receipts.store: swarm(experimental, on a test network), PLUR sends a list of memory IDs and fingerprints, never the text of your memories, to a gateway operated by Datafund, which stores it on the Swarm network. Anyone with its address can fetch it, and it stays until its paid storage ends, so we cannot withdraw it earlier. - Team memory. If you connect PLUR to a shared store, memories in the team scopes you choose go to that store. PLUR Enterprise runs on your own infrastructure or under a separate agreement with us, which then applies.
This website
- Analytics. We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to count page views and clicks. It stores nothing on your device, does not record sessions and does not follow you between visits. We do not keep your IP address with this data.
- Theme switch. If you use it, your browser remembers your choice locally. It is not sent anywhere.
- Server logs. Our web server keeps standard logs, including IP addresses, for up to 90 days to keep the site running and secure.
- Forms and email. If you give us your email address and company on a form, or email us, we use them to reply and to send what you asked for. We keep them for up to 24 months after our last contact, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Other services your browser contacts. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and may show a badge from shields.io, which see your IP address. Some blog posts embed a post from X or a video from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode); those services may set their own cookies, under their own policies.
Our legal basis
Analytics and server logs rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving a secure site. We reply to you because you asked us to, and usage reporting runs only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who else sees data
Only the services named above and the company that hosts our servers. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK and EU, under the standard safeguards the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see, correct, delete or move your personal data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email gregor@plur.ai. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or to your local authority.
Changes
If this page changes, we update the date above. If a change matters, we say so here.
